Once you find the right work from home job then just like any other regular position, it depends on if you can perform the requirements of the job.
Freelance work is as easy as finding companies looking for freelancers in your area of work. There are many work from home work directories out there that you can use to find work you'd be interested in doing.

Knowing about all of the possibilities available makes it easier for you to make smart decisions when the time comes. Companies are always interested in finding new ways to expand and reach their customers while keeping costs down. Work at home jobs offer them an attractive opportunity to accomplish all of this and more by permitting employees to telecommute. These companies include insurance, financial service firms as well as technology and software providers.
There are also some more traditional jobs that allow work from home opportunities like substitute teachers, customer service representatives, administrative assistants and even production editors. Companies need work done by people who can work with customers to find solutions or work with them on issues they have with their products/services. There is always work needing to be done in this category so you will never run out of work from home jobs doing customer service work (assuming you like working with people).
Work from Home Data Entry Positions – The majority of data entry positions require some sort of degree or certification but there are some data entry work at home jobs that don't require degrees. If you're good with writing then consider applying for these work from home jobs where you work as a contract worker to work on specific data entry tasks for various companies. There are work from home jobs that ask you to work on new data entry projects offered by the company and others offer work in specific industries like legal work or health topics. You either work on call and get paid per project or get assigned work based on your availability.
Freelance Writing/Editing – If you're someone who is good at writing and editing then this is the perfect work from home job for you. Companies all over need projects edited or written up, especially with the growth of blogging sites like WordPress, Wix and Squarespace. All work from home jobs can be fun, it really depends on what type of person you are and how much you enjoy working from the comfort of your own home. Working at home also gives you more time with family so there is definitely some good aspects to working from home if you are able, but just make sure you work hard to earn your much deserved compensation and don't take your work from home job for granted.
In addition to identifying what types of work from home jobs may be possible, you should also have an idea of your specific interests and qualifications. This will help guide you towards the type of job that can work best for you. There are many factors to take into consideration including whether or not you want to deal with customers directly or if working independently is more appealing, how much money you need to earn for yourself and your family as well as any other conditions that might affect your ability or desire to work at home.
