The Outer Banks is a 2022 Netflix series about best friends going on a treasure hunt. It stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Stokes, Rudy Pankrow, and Madison Bailey. And it’s popular, and everybody is saying they love it, some people on Reddit just weren’t impressed, even questioning why someone would watch such a cringeworthy show.

2. 13 Reasons Why (2017)

Redditors have pointed out how this show was poorly written and that the additional three seasons are totally uncalled for. However, ’13 Reasons Why’ surely has its appeal and moments, but it just wasn’t their cup of tea. Among other things, the show made a mockery of suicide. Well, what do you think of this show?

3. Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022)

The intriguing story about a psychotic serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, on Netflix got people watching and even loving it. However, the show also got its share of hatred, with some questioning how Netflix portrayed Dahmer. Some people on Reddit were actually concerned of these people’s state of being and mental health for idolizing a serial killer.

4. Wednesday (2022)

Who can ever forget Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday and her famous “Bloody Mary” dance? As it turns out, the show was overhyped, according to Redditors. The show had its merits, of course, but was just greatly overhyped, especially the trend of becoming emo and doing the dance scene, which is exaggerated and annoying.

5. Stranger Things (2016)

Stranger Things is known for many things: the girl named “El” with psychokinetic power; Vecna, who abducts poor children and brings them to the “other side,” the Demogorgons; and its excellent storylines and characters. However, it appears to be an overrated series, according to some Redditors, with some of them not finishing after the first season.

6. Emily in Paris (2020)

Emily in Paris surely got a lot of hype, but is it overrated? According to some Redditors, it absolutely is. Lily Collins is known for her role as Emily Cooper, who falls in love with the place. There’s also a rumor that the producers of the film have done extraordinary favors in return for awards at the Golden Globes, causing it to be cancelled in 2022. Another one highlighted that it’s their go-to show for coming home after being beaten from work and watching somebody else’s stupid life drama on TV.

7. Suits (2011)

Suits is a good mix of legal drama and comedy with its first episode released in June, 2011. It stars Gabriel Macht, Megan Markle, Patrick Adams, and Sarah Rafferty. However, some Redditors highlighted the fact that while there are some merits to the show, it’s just making them bored overtime.

8. Squid Game (2021)

Squid Game is a 2021 South Korean Netflix series that stars HoYeon Jung, Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Lee Yoo-Mi, and Park Hae-soo. The series is particularly known for the giant and innocent-looking killer doll that shoots people who move. Mr. Beast even brought the show to life with many people participated and a budget of $3.5 million. However, some people think that the South Korean show was just overrated in the first few episodes where lots of memes circulating the social media and nothing after that.

9. Orange is The New Black (2013)

Orange is the New Black, or OITNB, is an American comedy-drama television series that premiered in July 2013. It stars Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, and Samira Wiley. With 8.1 and 90% ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, it sounds promising and a good show to watch. However, several Redditors upvoted it as for being overrated.

10. Money Heist (2017)

Money Heist is a Spanish drama series that stars Alvaro Morte, Ursula Corbero, Pedro Alonso, Itziar Ituno, Alba Flores, Miguel Herran, and Jaime Lorente. From the title itself, the plot focuses on the biggest money heist ever, which is masterminded by “The Professor.” The show was very popular, and there is also a South Korean version of it on Netflix. However, just like the other shows above, this one too is upvoted as overrated.

11. Harry & Meghan (2022)

Harry & Meghan tells the story of the royal couple—Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—from courtship and early dating to their challenges and some aspects of their lives. The first and final episodes were released in December 2022. Some people have liked the show in the beginning, but the episodes coming after that get sour and “accusatory.” Rumors have also said that it gets people complaining about its initial release.
