Dinner’s Ready: 10 Simple Dishes That Don’t Require Skill

What is your go-to food that’s easy to cook and yet doesn’t compromise on taste? It could be scrambled eggs, pasta, or some comfort foods you always love on a rainy day. Well, here are ten foods that you can cook that don’t need master chef skills!

1. Spaghetti

One person said, “Spaghetti. It’s kind of one of those foods that everybody has a fondness for.”

Another person replied, “Depends on what kind of spaghetti. If you’re talking about basic ground beef, noodles, sauce, then yes, anyone can make that. But even then, it’s not necessarily ‘easy’. Properly seasoning and browning ground beef, and properly cooking noodles takes some skill.”

Finally, the third added, “Nah, that’s pretty easy. It’s as basic as you can get, unless you struggle with the likes of baked beans, eggs and baked potatoes, etc.”

2. Noodles

Somebody stated, “Noodles, no matter which.”

However, another person seems to disagree, “This is so false. You just barely over boil the noodles just a minute too long, the taste completely fades and you’re left with wet stringy tasteless rubber. You undercook them just slightly and the whole meal is ruined. Not even mentioning different types of noodles may require differing boiling times.”

3. Sandwiches

“Sandwiches,” said one.

“I bet on it, just take a slice of bread, slice of cheese and a slice of sausage—the end, if you buy right products—you even don’t have to cut anything,” replied another.

4. Ribs

One person said, “Ribs, just season we’ll and put them in foil and put them in the oven for 4 hours at 275. Take them out, let them cool unwrap them and blast them under the broiler for a few minutes to get a bit of sear going.”

5. Salmon

“Salmon. Unless you absolutely torch the fish, there’s no wrong way to cook it. We eat it raw in sushi, and I love pan-fried salmon,” somebody shared.

“Not all salmon can be eaten raw; only Atlantic salmon that has been flash frozen for sashimi. And man, this is one protein I have been served f– up too many times to even remotely consider it foolproof!” a second person replied in disagreement.

6. Rice

Somebody said, “Rice. Just throw it in a rice cooker, and you’re set.”

Rice, a staple in many cuisines, boasts a simple cooking process that primarily involves water and heat. With its forgiving nature, it doesn’t require constant attention, allowing it to simmer to perfection mostly on its own. This minimalistic approach makes it one of the most straightforward dishes to master, even for culinary novices.

7. Goulash

Goulash, a hearty stew of meat and vegetables, thrives on the principle of slow cooking, where ingredients meld over time to create deep flavors. Its one-pot nature means minimal fuss, as everything simmers together, reducing the need for intricate techniques or constant supervision. This simplicity, paired with its robust taste, makes it a go-to dish that’s both easy and satisfying.

8. Chili

A big pot of chili, stew, or curry capitalizes on the magic of slow-simmered flavors, where ingredients meld and enhance one another over time. These dishes, often prepared in a single pot, minimize kitchen fuss and streamline the cooking process. Their forgiving nature, where time does most of the work, makes them effortlessly delicious and easy for even beginners to master.

9. Scrambled Eggs
