Go beyond Swagbucks codes and scams to make real money on the site
As an actual Swagbucks member who has earned real money on Swagbucks, I can tell you first hand that Swagbucks is legit. If the idea of taking surveys, shopping online, and a list of other online activities for cash appeals to you, Swagbucks is worth a look.
And who doesn’t like making money?
Swagbucks isn’t the most lucrative side hustle, but it is a fun option if you only have 15 minutes at a time to complete a task and get paid for it. Most of the side hustle ideas I’ve tried take months to pay off, if ever, and hours a week just to develop.
Swagbucks rewards may not amount to thousands of dollars but it’s one of the safest and fastest ways I’ve made money online.
In this Swagbucks review, I’ll share my experience with you to help you decide if Swagbucks is worth your time.
Swagbucks Review and How to Get the Most from the Site
Maybe you’ve seen the name Swagbucks before and thought it was another cryptocurrency.
It’s one of the largest “get-paid-to” sites that’s been around since 2008 and has awarded more than $244 million in cash and gift cards. (I haven’t collected quite that much but I’ve made a few hundred dollars on not much work)
Swagbucks is entirely free to join and you make money by participating in free activities, some of which you do anyway:
- Online surveys
- Games
- Watching videos
- Free product samples
- Search the web
You can also shop online at any major online retailer and earn rewards points by shopping through Swagbucks. You pay the same price but get extra cashback; kind of like shopping with Ebates.
With all activities, you will earn rewards points (SBs). It might only be 1 SB for taking the one-second daily poll to 3,500 points by joining a survey panel. To give you a point of reference for the value of Swagbucks rewards point, each SB point is worth 1 penny making 100 points worth $1.

Don’t quit your job to join Swagbucks, but it can be a great way to supplement any income you earn from your day job or passive income investments.
Can You Really Earn with Swagbucks?
If you’re like me, you’re always looking for ways to earn a little extra money and Swagbucks is one method that has appealed to many others. But can you really earn with Swagbucks? Let’s find out…
First of all, Swagbucks is legitimate and it doesn’t hurt to try something new! It does take some effort as well as time but I will show you some tips and tricks that will help your earnings add up more quickly. These are the main components of the site:
Search – Do normal search engine activities on their website (just use Google if you want)
Watch – Watch videos from various sources
Daily Poll – Answer a daily poll to earn 10 swag bucks
Daily NOSO – Do a daily no obligation special offer that provides a chance to win 1000s of dollars in prizes! New offers are added every day.
Daily Game – Play 3 different online games, earning up to 15 Swagbucks each time

If you can spend 5-10 minutes on this stuff per day, you’ll find the money adds up quickly! As I mentioned earlier, search is not going to make you much money, but it will earn you some credit which you can eventually redeem for gift cards or cash. Swagbucks has a search engine similar to Google and Yahoo where you can use their tool bar instead of going to those other sites. You’ll get a few swag bucks as a bonus for using these tools as well as each time you search.
Daily polls are very quick and easy to do – just click on the link and it will take you to the poll page. Scroll down to vote and that’s it! You can also check off a box if you wish, allowing Swagbucks to share your information with their advertisers so they can send targeted advertisements your way via email or postal mail.
The more information you allow them to have, the better offers they might be able to provide but I always opt out of this option because 1) I don’t want spam 2) it takes longer for me to earn Swagbucks.
Daily NOSO is not something you can do every day because each offer will only allow so many people to participate, but it’s a great way to earn lots of Swagbucks if you have time to kill and don’t mind spending a few minutes checking out the offers.
Is Swagbucks Safe?
The classic sign of an online scam is having to send money in and not getting anything in return. If that’s the case, would Swagbucks be free to join and have an 8.7 Trustpilot rating?
This is what separates Swagbucks from some of the other online survey sites I’ve seen. A lot of the other sites charge you for a membership or an annual fee. It’s tough earning enough to make the fee back and the sites are mostly scams.
Although not every paid opportunity is worth the effort, Swagbucks can be a quick and easy way to make a little cash. I had my doubts until I gave it a try after several friends of mine recommended the survey site as an easy way to make money online.
I have never been scammed by Swagbucks and trust their service. There are plenty of free opportunities to earn rewards points where the only price is your time.
The Best Ways to Earn Swagbucks
The best part of Swagbucks is that you can earn money doing what you already do on a normal basis.
You will need to find the routine that works best for you, but I usually stick to the following income streams to maximize my earnings:
- Daily Poll
- Take Surveys
- Shop Online through Swagbucks
- Sign up for free products and apps
- Print grocery coupons
Online surveys are notorious for being time suckers that only pay a few pennies per hour. I always look for surveys that have the highest payout for the shortest time commitment. If I don’t like what I see, I check back later because the selection is continually changing.
On a positive note with surveys, you can take as many as you want each day. You can earn bonus points by signing up for a survey site to take additional surveys not found on Swagbucks.
You can also get cash back for shopping online and trying new products and apps. Before I make a purchase, I check the current Swagbucks offers to see if I can make a little actual cash. If you’re going to be getting the product regardless, Swagbucks rewards you for your purchase with free money.
Redeem Swagbucks for Cash or Gift Cards
Now that we’ve established that Swagbucks is a legitimate company, how easy is it to redeem your Swagbucks into actual money or rewards? Since Swagbucks users have redeemed more than $244 million in rewards, you will have no problem finding something to spend your points on.
You have four reward options to choose from:
- PayPal cash
- Gift cards
- Charitable Donations
- Sweepstakes entries
One of the most valuable redemption options is the $3 Amazon gift card for 300 points. If you don’t need Amazon cash, you can also get many other gift cards as low as $3 each. Most online survey sites require a minimum rewards balance of $10 before you can begin redeeming your points that can take casual survey participants a long time to earn.
With $3 gift cards, Swagbucks makes it extremely easy for anybody to earn a prize on a weekly basis, even if they only use Swagbucks one or two days a week.
If you prefer cash to gift cards, the smallest cash prize is $25 PayPal cash for 2,500 points. Your points are worth one cent each for cash or gift cards so you won’t lose money by going with a gift card instead of cash. You might actually save money if you use a gift card that’s on sale—PayPal cash is always 2,500 points for $25.
Is Swagbucks Worth It?
The money you earn from Swagbucks won’t make you rich or replace your full-time job, but it can give you a few extra dollars with minimal effort. When you have 15 minutes or less at a single time, Swagbucks can be the perfect option to monetize your free time instead of watching YouTube videos or reading the latest status updates on social media.

Pursuing other side hustles take a little more time and effort than Swagbucks, but you might even be able to earn passive income that makes money in your sleep. I like using both for fast cash while I build my online income assets.
I’ve enjoyed my experience with Swagbucks and have made more than enough money to justify my time doing online surveys and polls. Swagbucks is a legit online site and beats the other survey scams with its free membership and daily opportunities to make money. Try out Swagbucks to see how well it works for you and schedule it in 15 minutes a day during your free time.
