And since we all have opinions on just about everything, online surveys can be a perfect outlet to voice your opinion for cash.
Survey Junkie is a leading online survey sites because you can take multiple surveys a day and they have a relatively low $10 minimum redemption.
In this Survey Junkie review, I’ll walk you through the survey site and show you how to maximize your earnings as a Survey Junkie member. You’re not going to get rich exclusively taking online surveys so you need to maximize your survey opportunities to make as much money as possible.
Before you start any side hustle, you need to know how much the average job pays and which clients pay the most. There are dozens of online survey sites that you can join, but you need to pay attention to three key factors:

How Much Does Survey Junkie Pay?
With any online survey site, you won’t be able to replace your current daytime income. Survey Junkie is very straightforward and specifically states, “You will NOT get rich by taking surveys.”
Online surveys are a good option to supplement your existing income with minimal effort and most people earn just over the minimum wage. It might not seem like much but it’s a great option since you can do it while watching TV or cooking dinner.
Every Survey Junkie survey pays differently, but you generally get paid more for surveys that take longer to complete. As a regular participant, you will be invited to more lucrative surveys that pay more per minute.
For every survey, you receive rewards points that can be exchanged for gift cards or PayPal cash.
While Survey Junkie doesn’t clearly state how much you can earn per survey, we do know that 1,000 points are worth $10; if you want to earn $10 an hour, you need to earn 1,000 points an hour.
As you can see, you can earn anywhere from 45 points to 225 points per survey or 45 cents to $2.25 per survey with the current offering. In addition to paying attention to the number of points each survey takes, you should also pay attention to the time commitment as this is the #1 secret to maximizing your Survey Junkie earnings.
Two surveys can both have that same payout but one takes seven minutes and the other takes 19 minutes to complete. By choosing the seven-minute survey, you earn the same amount of points in a third of the time and you can use that extra time to take a second survey to earn more.
Who is the Ideal Survey Junkie User?
If I were simply giving my biased opinion, I would be very quick to say that literally anyone is an ideal Survey Junkie user since it truly does seem like an opportunity too good to be true! I mean who wouldn’t want to be paid just for taking a survey!?
Although it would be all too easy to just end my answer there and give only my biased opinion, I will provide you with a more legitimate answer to this commonly asked question. The ideal candidates to participate in surveys via Survey Junkie are people who:
- Survey Junkie is great for making some extra cash, but it is certainly not going to make you enough to live off in the same way a regular job would. Someone who already has a job and stable income, but would like to make some quick and easy cash or gift cards on the side would be very well suited to use Survey Junkie.
- If you are a parent who is constantly running your kids to their various soccer tryouts or dance practices, but then find that you’re unsure what to do with your time while waiting for their session to finish, Survey Junkie would be a great way for you to pass that time!
- If you’re someone who loves giving gift cards as birthday or Christmas gifts, Survey Junkie would be great for you because not only will you essentially be earning the gift cards “for free,” but it will also be a fun activity to get you excited for the holidays!
- Are you that person who can’t focus your full attention on your Netflix show? Do you need to be doing something else while you watch? If this sounds like you, start earning some cash with Survey Junkie while you watch!
Even if you don’t fall into one of these categories, it’s very easy to justify earning some quick cash through Survey Junkie, even if it’s just when you’re lying in bed at night before you go to sleep. Really, anyone can participate! The one important thing to highlight however, is that Survey Junkie is not meant to be an alternative to a full-time job/income. Survey Junkie will certainly offer some great cash and gift card rewards but will not provide you with a full-time or even part-time income.
How Many Surveys a Day Days Does Survey Junkie Offer?
Unlike some survey sites that only offer up to four survey invitations a week or month, you can take multiple surveys every day on Survey Junkie. Being able to take as many surveys as you want means Survey Junkie can easily be the only survey site you ever join.
You can complete as many or as few surveys as you desire. While most surveys take 15 minutes or less, there are several opportunities to participate in studies that can be up to 25 minutes in length.
The longer surveys tend to pay better even when you account for the time so watch for these. As you take more surveys, you will start getting invitations to take longer ones so don’t wait to get started.
We all have at least 30 minutes of free time at some point each day between classes, your lunch break, or in the evenings.
Survey Junkie also sends several emails a day with special invitations that you might qualify for. If you have the flexibility to take several surveys a day, these invitations can be great reminders to easily find the best opportunities.
Even if you attempt a survey and are disqualified after the initial screener, Survey Junkie still pays you two points for your time. And, you can try another survey.
Choosing the surveys with the green-colored diamonds are the surveys you’re the most likely to qualify for. Besides picking the green diamond surveys, choose surveys that pay the most points for the least time required.

In addition to determining how easy it is to make money with survey, you also need to see how soon you can get your payment and the payment method. Survey Junkie has a relatively low minimum payment threshold of $10 so active members can easily get paid at least once a week.
Once you earn 1,000 points ($10), you can redeem your balance for PayPal cash or e-gift cards to your favorite retailers like Amazon, iTunes, and Nike. One downside for international panelists is that only U.S. residents can earn gift cards and your only payment option is PayPal which still isn’t a bad deal.
Survey Junkie Reviews from Users
Survey Junkie posts reviews, both good and bad, from users on its website. There are some negative reviews from people that were not able to maximize their survey earnings and from one that had trouble with the PayPal payment but the vast majority of reviews on Survey Junkie are very positive. That’s not common for a lot of survey sites and the opportunity is definitely legitimate.

Is Survey Junkie Worth It?
Online surveys are one of the easiest side hustles to make money from, but they are also one of the lowest-paying side hustles because they require minimal effort. Survey Junkie is a legit company that doesn’t make outlandish claims that you can become an instant millionaire.
Survey Junkie is worth it if you only have a few minutes at once to make some extra money. Online surveys are an easy way to monetize your free time and can replace some of your current activities like surfing social media or watching TV. Even though online surveys don’t pay much, they’re easy and convenient compared to other higher-paying side hustles that require more time commitment.
If you don’t need the money immediately or you have more time to pursue a more lucrative side hustle, Survey Junkie isn’t worth your time. For example, you can earn passive income by investing in real estate and peer lending that can pay more each month with a much smaller time investment.
Survey Junkie is a legit survey company and you should consider joining if online surveys are your thing, but don’t be afraid to try other online income streams too. I’ve used several survey sites and found Survey Junkie to be the right balance of multiple surveys per day, low payout requirements and faster surveys.
