10 Fantastic Films To Go Into Completely Blind

What is the best film to go into entirely blind? I'll tell you what wasn't a good film walking in blindly with my high school boyfriend, The People vs. Larry Flynt.

I still don't know if that was intentional. Nonetheless, after polling the internet, these ten films were top-voted movies to watch without knowing anything about them.

1. The Sixth Sense (1999)

Someone shared, “The Sixth Sense is one of those movies sacrificed on the altar of pop culture.” The film is excellent if you honestly can go into it blind. But it loses so much when you know the plot twist.

2. The Usual Suspects (1995)

The Usual Suspects has become so synonymous with its twist ending that anyone who watches it knows there will be a twist at the end. Someone volunteered, “My friend rented The Usual Suspects, and we watched it knowing nothing other than it was a crime movie. When it ended, he stood up and walked over to rewind it, saying, “We're watching it again to pick up on clues.”

3. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)

Everything Everywhere All at Once is a film many wish to watch without knowing anything about it again. One added, “I started watching the trailer way back last March.

Halfway through, I stopped because I had already decided that I wanted to go and didn't want to know anything more. But I am so glad that I did. The movie is so wonderfully, gloriously bonkers that going in blind is the best way.”

4. Memento (2000)

Memento is one of the most excellent films on many movie lists. Someone confessed to watching it in high school for a film study class. “It's not the type of movie you want to split up into 30-40 minute sections, so I ended up just watching it on my own.”

5. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010)

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a hilarious comedy horror film and an instant cult classic. However, one moviegoer warned, “Do NOT watch the trailer. It speedruns all the best gags back to back.”

A second user admitted, “The first time I watched this, I had no idea what it was. I just stumbled across it because I love Alan Tudyk. I am so glad I never saw anything about it beforehand. Was brilliant!”

6. The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

The Cabin in the Woods is revered as one of the greatest horror films ever to surprise its audiences. As a result, it's on many best horror movie lists of all time.

One person suggested, “Whew, what a ride. I had no interest in seeing it until my buddy insisted that I give it a shot, and I knew I was in for a treat from the opening scene alone.”

7. The Matrix (1999)

The Matrix was a revolutionary cinema experience that blew viewers' minds. One confirmed, “I went to The Matrix, and all I knew was that there would be Kung Fu. I had my teenage mind blown!”

Many users explained how extraordinary the action scenes and CGI were. Finally, one argued, “Honestly, and I know people like to poke fun at the sequels, but that also goes true for The Matrix Reloaded, especially with the Architect scene turning everything we and human characters know on its head.

8. Oldboy (2003)

Oldboy is always a contender on movie lists with the most insane plot twists and mind-blowing films. So it's no surprise it made this list. However, the Korean version is preferred by most, and many have accidentally watched the American version without realizing it's a remake. It's been deemed far from as good.

One user confessed, “I watched this for the first time at a special screening this year with three other friends who had seen it already (and were good at keeping their mouths shut), and let me tell you- what an experience.”

9. From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)

From Dusk Till Dawn is a movie many agree is best going in blindly. Some admitted they thought it was a gangster film. Others made mention of the infamous scene with Salma Hayek.

Finally, one shared, “I was in college when this came out, and my boss went to see it completely blind, thinking it was just a Quentin Tarantino movie. He was not a horror fan and was unprepared for what would happen.”

Someone admitted they went into The Menu blindly, which was awesome. Several others agreed that the movie was surprisingly great and different from what they expected from the previews.

Finally, one shared, “I consider myself very fortunate that I knew practically nothing about it before watching it. I cooked in high-end restaurants for nearly a decade, and they did their homework. So I had no idea what type of movie it was until sous chef Jeremy talked to the diners about the mess!”
