What is something that you, as an American, are tired of hearing? What do you think the most common responses would be? Many frequenters of a popular online forum had the same question. Someone asked, “Americans, what are you tired of hearing?” Here is how the internet responded.
1. Donald Trump
The 45th president of the United States has stirred up a lot of controversy across the nation and internationally as well. From the striking and appalling policies he has implemented to the hilarity that was his once overactive Twitter feed, the former president has raised many eyebrows, and Americans are tired of hearing about him.
2. The Kardashians
Since the early 2000s, the Kardashian-Jenner clan has been making a meteoric rise to fame. Kim, the second oldest of the original Kardashian girls (Kylie and Kendall later changed their names to Kardashian), rose to fame first, allowing her the opportunity to help the rest of the gang. Fast forward to today, most of them are multimillionaires, two billionaires. Many Americans would agree they bring no real substance to the American way of life.
3. Elon Musk
“Elon Musk is a monster that eats attention, so we need to stop feeding him, and he'll go away,” according to many. The co-founder of PayPal needs constant attention to stroke his ego, and to starve his ego is the ultimate way to get rid of him.
4. Politics Plastored All Over the News
“Let's get back to the morning news, midday updates, nightly news, and stopping there. Politics has become a sporting event; every station wants to tell you how to feel. I miss boring news,” many in the thread stated.
5. The Next Piece of Life-Changing Tech
One student noted, “I was in college when some billionaire announced the next big invention that would completely change how we design cities and live our lives. One of my professors was super excited to learn what it was and kept hyping the upcoming announcement. It turned out to be the Segway.” What a colossal disappointment.
6. Your Car's Extended Warranty
Everyone has received a voicemail or email that sounded along the lines of “We have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.” We're sick of it! Every salesperson knows that if the customer doesn't get the warranty at the time of purchase, they are not getting it. Stop calling us, please.
7. Americans Are Racist
One explained, “I am from a small, very white, rural town in the U.S. I went to London in the late 90s, and I was shocked by how casual and direct people were in stereotyping residents from other racial or ethnic backgrounds.”
8. America Doesn't Have Good Cuisine
America may not have an authentic cuisine of its own, but we have mastered the art of mastering the art. America is undoubtedly a gathering of many different cultures that gathers other cultural foods. America has mastered the art of personalizing anything they do. Another added, “Sure, all of it might not be authentic, but we have food from almost every culture in the U.S. Even in the states, Mexican food can vary. And there are many different styles of BBQ and pizza as well.”
9. Americans Are Overweight and Inactive
Someone mentioned, “I feel personally attacked right now. I was in the middle of getting dressed to go to the gym, but something happened along the way, and now I'm sitting on my couch in my undies on the computer. Guess I'll get a move on now.”

10. Your Call is Very Important To Us…
Nobody likes to wait on hold for any amount of time. Add to the horrible wait time a constantly repeated message, “Please continue to hold for the next available representative.” or “We're currently experiencing unusually high call volumes.” It's 6:43 in the morning; how are there usually high call volumes already?
